Brenda Gambol is a third year Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at The Graduate Center, City University of New York.  As a former public school teacher, she is particularly interested in education, immigration, and race and ethnicity and, for her dissertation, will study the educational trajectories of children of Filipino immigrants in New York City public schools.  She currently teaches at Hunter College as a Graduate Teaching Fellow.
