Brenda Gambol is a fourth year Ph.D. candidate in Sociology at The Graduate Center, City University of New York.  As a former public school teacher, she is particularly interested in education, immigration, and race and ethnicity and, for her dissertation, will study the educational and occupational trajectories of children of Filipino immigrants in the New York City metropolitan area.  She currently teaches at Hunter College as a Graduate Teaching Fellow.
